Martin Prahl’s Skelter Wheel
Tomorrow Martin Prahl’s Skelter Wheel start their tour with a gig at KB in Malmö. Supporting The Levellers they then continue to Oslo, Stockholm, Göteborg and Köpenhamn. In the luggage they carry the excellent new album “Martin Prahl’s Skelter Wheel” which was released in September.
It’s a dense, energic rock with a big sound that Martin and his band present. A rather untrendy rock at the moment I’d say, to judge from all the tips I receive. Which is a good sign for me, to have the guts to do your own thing. It feels like the roots can be found somewhere in melodic rock and hard rock from the seventies and with some extension into the eighties. There’s quite a few folk vibes in the music, which makes me sometimes think of Tony Carey’s rock songs from the eighties.
