Erik Borelius – “The World We Know”

Erik BoreliusErik Borelius isn’t a new artist, but seems to have an ability to reinvent himself from time to time and explore new grounds. And his new album  “The World We Know It” is no exception.

This is his eleventh album since 1986 and even if he’s mostly known for his instrumental works before with the acoustic guitar in the frontline (listen to the brilliant “Movies On a String” on Spotify from 2008) , “The World We Know It” is a vocal album.

First of all “The World We Know It” is a pop album with beautiful melodies, good lyrics and nice vocals, but he mixes this with his beautiful and interesting guitar play (both electric and acoustic) and influences from jazz rock and progressive rock, to a wholeness.

There’s a soft, pleasant ambience, often grand where the choirs fill in and with a really good sound quality. A varying and enjoyable album that grows each time I listen to it.

You can find Erik on his site and on Facebook.
