Turn Off Your Television

We’ve become used to Turn Off Your Television releasing an album each Autumn, and this year’s no exception. “Save All the Liars” is the name of the new album, which will be released on November 21st. As a first taste they are showing us the title track today, which will be followed by another two songs in the weeks to come before the release.

Turn Off Your Television – “Between the Lines”

Turn Off Your Television

Turn Off Your Television’s new song “Between the Lines” is officially being released tomorrow, but it made my day already today. This gentle song is seductively mesmerizing with it’s march-like drums and delicate build into grand, beautiful pop. At the same time the singer Jon Rinneby has crept up right in front us, with nothing in between, and sounds more heartfelt and better than ever before.

Turn Off Your Television – “Humble Waves”

October 9, 2012 at 4:02 pm

Turn Off Your Television

Yesterday Turn Off Your Television released their second album “Humble Waves”. And I do recognise some parts from last year’s wonderful debut album. The folk pop and rock with beautiful melodies is still present, but yet it is quite a different experience in several ways.

The dreamy and the fine-polished has been cast aside and given way for a dirtier, more naked and more back-to-the-roots sound, where influences from the sixties and the seventies are quite obvious, from Beatlesque pop to psychadelia. At the same time it’s darker and with a sound with better depth and heaviness. An album that feels at least as strong as the former one, but in a different way.

Turn Off Your Television – “Planets Will Collide For You”

October 1, 2012 at 8:53 pm

Today Turn Off Your Television released another video and song as a rehearsal before the album release next week. From the first listen I’ve had of the new album, this is one of my absolute favourites, “Planets Will Collide For You”. This song and also “Blanket of Shame” from the same album can be downloaded on their site.
