Today I can invite you to a premiere of Tired Tape Machine’s live gig at Sofar Sounds in Stockholm from earlier this Autumn. This beautiful melancholy comes from the two songs “Sisyphus” and “Somewhere Safe”, where the first song is taken from Tired Tape Machine’s new album “Not Here”, to be released on the 19th of November.
Here’s a new single from the duo Eternal Death, Elin Berlin and Johan Angergård. It’s called “Fade” and is a melodically beautiful electropop song with some vibes from the eighties.
The producer duo KLoN!, which I wrote about in Spring, have released the song “Den dagen den sorgen”. This time Johanna Grane, hailing from Malmö, has added the vocals.
Yesterday Sveket released the second single from their upcoming album. “Den allvarsamma leken” is a song that follows in the same tracks the song “Hollywoodslut” laid out in Spring with a mix of electro and retroschlager.
And finally the bluegrass band G2 who traveled to the US, toured there and also recorded a new album in Nashville with the help of the producer Erick Jaskowiak. Here’s the first taste of the album, “We Were Kings”:
Petter Lindhagen and his Tired Tape Machine is underway with his third album, “Not Here”. “Sisyphus” is the first taste of the record, a song you can listen to below in two versions.
Frederick from the electronica duo Sameblod is working on a solo project also, a project he calls Pizzaboys. “day” is his first creation, an instrumental tune; indie pop with vibes of new wave from the eighties.
Felix Wickman will release his third album, “I recommend swimming”, on the 15th of May. The single “Grown Ups/Ballerina” is a fine presentation to this album’s special sound; Felix’ fragile voice in a live atmosphere with a shimmering patina swept over the entire production. A great song and an album that’s just as great.
Solen, hailing from Gävle, released the single “Förlorare” (“Losers”) a week ago. It’s pop with a wonderful raw sound and my thoughts go also to Hurula, an artist they will be the opening act to in Stockholm April 25th and in Göteborg May 9th.
Petter Lindhagen calls his instrumental one man band Tired Tape Machine. The name is taken from an album by Smog from 1990, as Petter thought that his first album “Somewhere Safe” sounded a little bit like a tired old tape recorder.
Recently he released the album “Between Raindrops”, a quite pleasant instrumental experience. It has a filmic vibe, and I easily play images in my mind as I listen. He dives in and out of different genres and mixes them, but without being difficult to access. No, this is very easy to absorb and sink into, with melodies and soft ambiences to lean back on. A diverse album but with a very personal touch.
