The duo David Lehnberg and Elin Lindfors in The Deer Tracks are back with the third and last part of their album trilogy in that they released “The Archer Trilogy Pt. 3” a week ago. It’s a very beautiful, snow sparkling journey from minimalistic, magical ambiences to exuberant arena fanfares. Sweet, creative and unmistakably The Deer Tracks. Here are two tracks from the album.
And finally The Deer Tracks produced a follow-up to the album debut “Aurora”. They did this with the EP:n “Eggegrund” which was released during spring, although only in 1000 hand numbered records.
Eggegrund is a small island outside Gävle, Sweden, which was the place where they recorded the four tracks on the EP, inside a lighthouse on the island. You will recognize The Deer Tracks on the EP, but at the same time they enter new paths, where each track has it’s own direction and character.
Here below you can listen to two of the tracks, where one of them, the tale of the polarbear cat, “Isbjörnskatten,” is the first song they sing in Swedish.

Twiggy Frostbite, taste that name. I don’t know where it comes from or what it means exactly, but I do think it feels perfect for their music. Like sparkling icicles in a starlit winter night. It’s exciting and a little mysterious with cool melodies that squiggles through a fantastic sound space. The misty voice of Elin Lindfors is the magic wand that turns this into something really special.
After the the singer Elin Lindfors collaboration with David Lehnberg in The Deer Tracks, which I wrote about in August, Twiggy Frostbite are now preparing for their debut album “Through Fire” (Despotz Records). It’s about to be released in the beginning of February next year, and in the meantime we can enjoy a track from the album, “Heroes”.
The Deer Tracks started out as a studio project and a side project for the two members Elin Lindfors (Twiggy Frostbite) and David Lehnberg (Leiah, Ariel Kill Him). After a lot of attention on the net, they ended up playing on the Rookie festival in Hultsfred, and the project quickly evolved into something more serious. The 27th of august, they released their debut album “Aurora” on Despotz Records. This summer they have toured around Sweden, they have played at Hultsfredsfestivalen and are now on their way to scenes in London and Finland in the early autumn.
You can listen to and download two songs from the album below. It’s beautiful, it’s emotional, it’s playful and becomes almost epical when the songs reach the crescendo. The bright, fragile and almos hypnotical voice of Elin is beautifully complemented by David’s voice. “Slow Collision” catches my attention most, and it feels like the entire song is built upon a short and simple repeating melody, a melody that has a real hook and turns into a fanfare in the end of the song. Brilliant!
