The Plastic Pals

Mathias Melo – “My Friend the Freedom Fighter”

Mathias Melo is a new musical acqaintance for me, one who has just released his first single, “My Friend the Freedom Fighter”. It’s an inspirational, sunny singer/songwriter pop with a lovely rhythmic acoustic guitar playing, and an interesting voice from Mathias.

Fou De Toi – “Dreams”

Today Fou De Toi release the second single from their collaboration with the producer Ronald Blood. It’s called “Dreams” and is yet another example of their exquisite sense of catchy pop melodies.

The Plastic Pals – “The Final Remedy”

Tomorrow The Plastic Pals release the single “The Final Remedy”. The song is taken from their excellent second album “Turn the Tide”, launched last year. Great groove on this catchy tune which send me vibes of powerpop, new wave and garage rock and a breath of the era around the end of the seventies/the beginning of the eighties.

Simian Ghost – “Echoes Of Songs (For Trish Keenan)”

And here’s another piece of wonderful dreamy indie pop from Simian Ghost in the song “Echoes Of Songs (For Trish Keenan)”. The song is a tribute to Trish Keenan, former singer in  Broadcast, who tragically passed away three years ago.

Simian Ghost

I never say no to new pop songs from Simian Ghost. Here they are with the single “A Million Shining Colours”, a 60’s-vibing tune with a flavour of Beach Boys. It’s the first single from their upcoming album “The Veil”, due for release in Spring.

Simian Ghost

Here’s a couple of songs from Simian Ghost’s EP “Autumn Slowmo”, which was released just in the end of last year. A great EP, which finishes with the wonderful “Dizzy Spells”, a new favourite of mine.

Navet – “For The Show”

August 3, 2011 at 1:31 pm

Navet has released the single “For the Show” from the debut album “Navet”. To make it even more interesting the original song is accompanied by a bunch of great remixes from Familjen, Simian Ghost, Lissi Dancefloor Disaster feat. OWL Vision and Adventure Of.

Here below are two of the tracks. You can find and download the others on Navet’s site or listen on Spotify.

Simian GhostSebastian Arnström from Aerial calls himself Simian Ghost as a solo artist. And in the end of last year he released the debut album “Infinite Traffic Everywhere”.

He creates a really nice sound and pleasant atmosphere where  electronica meets lush acoustic guitars in songs where he’s experimenting as well as hooking you up with pop melodies. A great album.

You can find Simian Ghost on Myspace or on Facebook and you can listen to the album on Simian Ghost’s site or on Spotify.
