Salvadir, hailing from Göteborg, last month released the single “Random Love”, an indie rock song which they have loaded with a large dose of vibes from the sixties. Last year they released their debut EP, and now they are going to release the next EP, from where this song is taken.

The five-membered band Long Long Showers comes from Malmö and have so far released a self-titled album and they are underway with the release of a new EP. It’s a pleasantly messy alternative rock they show us, with a singer with his very own expression. Even though it’s possible to find references to other indie rock bands of today, my thoughts goes mostly to British rock and new wave from the early eighties. Anyone For Tennis is a band I really like and that I’ve written about before. The other day they wrote me that they have released a new single, “Everything Is Falling Down”, and also that it’s taken from their upcoming album, which will be their first full length album, which I’m sure I will get back to later on.
The song doesn’t disappoint me at all; it’s a great rock song, where the singer Martin Norström takes the chorus at least a couple of more notches up in to the sky with his performance, and a song which feels a little if Foo Fighters and Manic Street Preachers once made a song together. But then they have this horn section in the chorus, which doesn’t fit that model, but which nevertheless makes the song sing.

I don’t get that many tips about metal and hard rock bands to the blog, so when I do get one, I’ll have to grab the opportunity to present it. It’s the metal band Overworld who wrote me about their debut EP “Perfect Anomaly”, released in Spring. I don’t feel that at home in the genre to compare with other bands. I can see, though, that it’s pretty crowded with bands over the world in this genre, but I do think that Overworld have the qualities to stand out.
There’s an energy in their music that I can really feel and they also start out with solid songwriting in the five songs on the EP. Since I’m more of a hard rock listener than a metal fan I also appreciate the starting track a little extra bit, “Until We’re Dead”, which stands out among the other songs by sounding more like a hard rock song with metal influences than the other way around.
The band was started last year and they impress too through their communication with their fans. In a relatively short time they have gathered a solid rather big enthusiastic fan base all on their own, so the energy and the ambitions doesn’t stop with their music.

Here’s the debut single from the band My Own Summer, “Blood Dries”, which was uploaded a couple of weeks ago. The band, hailing from Kalmar, has since the start last winter been occupied with songwriting and recording, so I suspect that we’ll soon get to hear more songs. And a good start it is, and with the bandname in front of me I can’t avoid sensing some summer vibes in this indie rock track with arena ambitions.
