The Good Morning Spider – “Outergalactic” – album

I showed you some of The Good Morning Spider, hailing from Malmö, in February. In the end of March the excellent debut album”Outergalactic” was released, an album full of psychadelia influences and laidback, creative rock. Here are two songs:

Chirping – “Lux” – EP

Indierock from Chirping on the EP “Lux”. The song “The Abyss“, which I presented in the Autumn, is joined by three new songs. Here’s “Canary Wharf”:

Sentimental Pet – “Evil Mind”

Alternative rock from Sentimental Pet:

Hunt “Reset My Bones” (featuring Andrea Gibson)

The band Hunt, hailing from Göteborg, with the postrock-vibing song “Reset My Bones”. The song is based on a poem by Andrea Gibson, a poem she recites in the song. Video by Mats Udd.

Ef

For those who know the post rock genre well, it may not be news that Ef, hailing from Göteborg, released the album “Ceremonies” a couple of months ago. It’s their fourth album since the start ten years ago, and they are often compared to bands like Sigur Rós, Mogwai and Explosions In the Sky. Here are two tracks from “Ceremonies”.

Ioseb – “agartha”

Ioseb

Ioseb leaves us alone in a small hut out on the northern highlands, where we can experience the windswept empty plains, while the winter i biting our cheeks. That’s where we start on Iosebs second postrock-sounding album “agartha” (I wrote about their first album here). As a whole it’s more dynamic than that where we get to hear everything from a desoletely minimalastic piano version of “Ack Värmeland du sköna” up to grand melodic crescendos. Here are two tracks:

E321 – “Among the Trees”

E321

E321 is a trio from Västerås, whose music I’d like to place in the post rock domains, with some influences from progressive rock and fusion. Here it’s not about verse-chorus-songs but longer pieces of musical exploration of various moods around a certain theme. It’s mostly instrumental, but they add some thoughts with spoken word-like vocals. It’s music that grows with each listen as I get into the songs more and more. Listen for yourself here in “They Call Us Human” from their EP “Among the Trees”.
