I the Autumn I wrote about the brit pop-inspired band Cave Cat and their single “Deception”. A couple of months ago they released this animated video to the second track on the single, “The Abject”.
Here’s the debut single from Nicole Sabouné in a video created by Mats Udd. Great song with a Sisters of Mercy-dark ambience but with a sound that rather reminds of the end of the seventies/beginning of the eighties. Nicole makes a great performance here with low tones that haven’t been heard since the days of Amanda Lear and shows a strong expression and an impressive vocal registry.
About a year ago I Wrote about The Litsos. The band has now released their second EP “Daylight Saving EP”, an EP where they explore some new directions with their music. On a couple of tracks I recognise them well from before with their new wave and post punkish The Cure-influences, while they on the wonderful melancholic ballad “Never, at All” follow a somwhat different path, or in the finishing song, the beautiful acoustic “Mourning Glory”, where they open the curtain to a different atmosphere, like if they woke up one morning and were inspired by the first serene sunlight.
We Do Not Negotiate With Terrorists with Ross Downing in the front is back with the new single “Big If”, and present a heavier rawer and more energic sound thanbefore. “Big If” is a great song that breathes of post punk spiced up with the beautiful backing vocals by Sophia Axelsson which make the song fly even higher.
Here’s a debut single from Cave Cat, a band that was formed when two guys met in a bar: “The idea of starting a band together formed in a common love for the British guitar pop from the 80’s and 90’s. Soon two became four and the band CAVE CAT was formed.” And that’s how it feels: indie with The Smiths and postpunk vibes. Listen to the title track here below.
