Earlier this Autumn Piroth finished their seasonal art project “Djupa skogen” by releasing the fourth single “Virvlande höst”. Simultaneously the mini album and art box “Djupa skogen” was completed with these four melancholic, acoustic folk songs together with a piano version of “Djupa skogen” with Patricia Naumanen.

Today Piroth continues their series with songs that illustrate the seasons. Here’s their image of Spring/early Summer, “Morgondimma” (“Morning mist”).

The two sistes Piroth continues with their plan of releasing a new song each season, the most recent one “På fältet” which is out now. Beautiful, acoustic and folk-melancholic, and as before illustrated above by the artist Kheira Linder. The third song, “Morgondimma” (“Morning Mist”) will be released in the end of May.

The two sisters Johanna and Nina Piroth have so far released three albums under the name Piroth, all in English. Today they release a song with Swedish lyrics for the first time, “Djupa skogen” (“The Deep Forest”), a beautiful ballad full of Nordic melancholy and nature poetry. The single is the first one in a series of four, where they will release one for every season, during the year to come, all collected in the end on the album “Djupa skogen”. They also collaborate with the artist Kheira Linder, photographer Philipp Gallon and film maker Lillemor Film, where each one interpret one or more of the songs in their own way.

The duon Piroth consists of the sisters Nina and Johanna. They are on their way out with the new album “Safe Haven” and you can listen to and download the first singel from the record here below. And on their Myspace page you can find more songs from the upcoming album.

From what I’ve heard so far from the album, it sounds really interesting, and it’s a change to a fuller sound, compared with their earlier works. Folk music, pop, and classic singer/songwriter together with their two voices becomes a special fragile melancholy that feels unique.
