Kate and After – “The Game”

Kate and After

Kate and After, whom I’ve written about before, is back with a new single, “The Game”. According to the band, this is a first taste of their upcoming debut album, which will be released during Fall this year. The collaboration with the producer Henryk Lipp continues and I think the sound feels even better now compared to the earlier EP. More open and bigger, and singer Magnus Lindqvist has never sounded better with his special expression.

Kate and After – “Things to Do”

October 4, 2010 at 3:18 pm

Kate and After“Things to Do” is the debut EP from Kate and After. I wrote about them in January and it’s obvious that a lot has happened since then.

They called in Henryk Lipp as the producer to the EP and together they have created a new sound for the band. It’s more energetic and heavy while the hammond has found it’s right place and adds a nice retro luster to their indie rock/pop. The vocals are dubbed, more edgy and brings an up-to-date feeling of the sound. Well, it feels like the entire band has stepped forward and demands more space.

You can listen to two of the songs from “Things to Do” here below. On their site you can listen more and also download the EP. It’s also available on Spotify.

Kate and After

Kate and AfterKate and After participated with a song in our Christmas special in December and I thought it was time to listen to more tracks from the band. Below you can find two songs to listen to and download.

I think that Kate and After radiates a joy of playing and an energy that is contagious. It’s about indie pop, but there is a feeling in the sound; some of it because of the hammon organ; that gives me a lot of retro vibes. I also have to mention Magnus Lindquists vocals and his expression that send out that extra which makes Kate and After stand out.

Well, let’s celebrate Christmas this year too here on Meadowmusic. And then with some Christmas songs you may not have heard before, at least not in the version you’ll find here.

The tracks we presented last year are of course good for this Christmas too.

Maybe you will find a new Christmas favourite or maybe you will find an artist you want to listen more to.

Well, here’s our gift and Merry Christmas!
