Kastrup – “Come and Get Me”

Kastrup

The duo Kastrup have released a follow-up to the their single “Thieves“, released in Spring, with the new song “Come and Get Me”. This time they pick up some speed and head out on a electropop adventure in a rock tempo, which reminds me a bit about The Killers. They are still the same romantics, though, with their fondness of drama and big deciding moments. Absorbing their music is in a way like seeing your life as part of a movie, which sure can be a pretty cool experience. I have a special soft spot for their last song, the more sentimentally coloured “Thieves”, but there’s no doubt that they have produced another song with hit potential with “Come and Get Me”.

The duo Kastrup, Timmie Strandberg and Puppe Westberg, released the excellent pop single “Lydia” in the Autumn. Today they are releasing the follow-up, “Thieves”, also a melodic pop track where the guitars this time have moved aside to give some space to pumping synths. It’s a rather dark story about broken illusions, fears and big city anxiety which they embed in an emotional, beautiful and romantic shimmer, turning the song into a grand, epic “let’s run away”-song.

The band Kastrup, hailing from Malmö, released their debut single “Lydia” in Summer. They write that they were on their way of quitting after the release as it felt too hard to to reach out to people. But after the song made it into the Swedish radio show “P3 Osignat” and its list, they found the energy to continue and also discovered new ways to the listeners. Here’s “Lydia”, a nice, melodic pop song with a big sound.
