“We Are Men, We Travel Distance” is the name of the duo The Good Legs’ debut album, which was released in September. The band members are Björn Andersson (vocals and guitars) and Elias Sundberg (percussion), who have played together many years before they decided two years ago to start playing live. The music is acoustic with the roots in american folk music, where Björn’s skilful and intense guitar playing is the driving force in the songs’ arrangements, and the closest comparison I come to think of is José Gonzalez and his Junip. At first I missed some breathing space on the album, some dynamics, but the record has been growing with each listen, and I find myself being more and more fascinated with the songs, the melodies and Björn’s variations and fantasy in his guitar playing. Forty Years

Gustaf Montelius is back with his solo project The Fiery Piano, which I presented here the first time in 2011. Now it’s about the debut album “Second Space”, 10 songs with his own variant of bedroom pop; indie pop characterized by Gustaf’s individual voice, somewhat untidy shelves and tables, the large mixed with the small and a lot of playfulness to the nice melodies.

Scenes From a Science Fictional Love Story

The duo Joakim Wiik and Samuel Heiligers call themselves Woolfish when they create music. Inspired by Kent and Sigur Rós among others, they have recently released their debut single “Files”.

The duo Malin Dahlberg and Marcus Bergman, hailing from Göteborg, met in the band The Greencoats, got to know each other well there and started writing songs together in Spring 2012. Now we can enjoy the result of this in two tracks on a new single with their project Ceremonies. Two songs that grow with each listen I must say; songs with nice and efficient melodies and a grand dramatic eighties’ sound combined with a certain indie vibe.

King Melodies recently released the debutalbum “I Am the Devil”. Martin Bäcklin is the man behind King Melodies, and he has earlier released four EP:s with this project. And as the name implies, the melodies are very much in focus here (together with Martin’s characteristic  voice which makes me think somewhat of Janne Kask from Brainpool); there are quite few beautiful ones in this lo-fi shimmering Americana-influenced indie pop.
