Basko Sthlm, which I wrote about last autumn is releasing their first full length album. You can already now listen to the album and download it on Basko Sthlm’s site, but the actual CD is released the 9th of June. They celebrate this with a release party at Debaser, open for anyone to join.

It’s a really nice and varied album they present, partly with a new musical character, compared to what I wrote about earlier. The playfulness and the joyfullness is there, and so is the backbeat every now and then. The latino inspiration, though, is not so pronounced now; instead there are more of an indie-pop feeling and more space for ambience and thoughtfulness. Really nice.

In September I wrote about Sleazy Romance, and they were really appreciated by visitors here on Meadowmusic. I mentioned then that they were planning a new album, and now, finally, it’s on it’s way. Nowadays they call themselves Light in Your Life.

From this week you can listen to the entire album on their Myspace page, and the album is officially released on the 19th of June. It’s a really nice listen, and it feels like a solid album. Reflecting, soft and beautiful indie rock.

Culkin is a band from Stockholm that started out in 2007, and they are just about to release a new album. You can find two songs from the album below, to listen to and download.

This is indie rock which breathes some of the air that groups from the nineties like Sonic Youth did, mixed up with the melancholy and the nice ambience I find with artists like Marjorie Fair. The vocals and the melodies sort of float on top the massive guitars, almost like it was meditative rock.

Charlotte and Daniel form the duo Lionlove. They say about their music that it is a journey from the point when they started seeing each other and then became a pair, created a life together, and into the future. Somewhat maybe like composing the music of your life. And I think they do this very well. I feel just fine listening to their passionate, positive music.

This is pop with beautiful melodies in arrangements that are not exaggerated. They are both singing in the songs and their interplay forms in a way the base of the songs. I also really like the solo trumpet that adds a nice ambience to the tracks. Here you’ll find three tracks that were recently recorded.

A couple of months ago, I wrote about Hillnor and his interesting experimental electronica. Now he is back in a very different shape. He calls himself Peace and Concord and he brought just his guitar (and some strings).

In a way this feels timeless, with vibes from the singer/songwriters of the sixties and the seventies, and at the same time a lot of indie. I really like the feeling of these recordings, and I’m surprised how they stick and grow the more I listen.
