Here’s a brand new video from St John’s Dance, that is the rappers Eboi, Adam Tensta and Dida, who I wrote about the other day. Also we find, sitting right on the voodoo throne, none other than Doctor Alban.
Johan Klingwall is a 23 year old songwriter and artist, who recently released his debut single “En vacker dag” (“A beautiful day”), a smooth hip hop/pop-song with a quite catchy chorus. The song is taken from the upcoming EP “Känslan är allt”, and before the EP release he’s planning to release a music video and another single in November.
Rapper P.E. travels with a time machine to the 14th century and lands right into Nyköpings banquet, is chained, frees himself and travels back to our time. That’s the story of the hip hop duo P.E. & Kholebeatz’ new video “En tidsresa (Nyköpings gästabud)” (“A time travel (Nyköping’s banquet)). The song is the first single from the album the duo is working on right now, “Tung last” (“Heavy load”).
Unusually enough, I thought I’d start this week with some hip hop. It’s Michel Dida who released the single “Make It Happen” recently. The last three years Michel Dida has toured with Adam Tensta in their project St. John’s Dance, and now he’s been working with the release of his first official solo material with the EP “Music For Her to Die to”. The EP is a collaboration with the producer duo Addeboy vs. Cliff and the plan was to release it in the beginning of Autumn. Until then we can enjoy the song “Make It Happen”.
SAM is a producer, rapper, songwriter, artist and graphic designer. He’s been producing music since the beginning of the nineties, in different constellations and in his own name, and this summer he released the seven tracks strong album “I Did It, Man”.
The song that I listened to first and caught me was actually the only instrumental song on the album, the irresistable “distGo”, with it’s cool disted trumpetsounding melody. It felt playful and creative, which is also significant for the rest of the album. It has it’s very own mix of electro, dub-step, hooky melody figures and other vibes, backing up a slick rap containing a large dose of satire and tounge-in-cheek. You can try out two songs here below.
