Johan Bring from the electronica duo Stygg, which I’ve written earlier about, released a first single in Spring from a new project where he calls himself Professor Johan Bring. It’s called “Universum” and is a laidback song with funk-disco vibes, where he talk-sings in a way that makes me think of the days of Just D. Together with his colleague David Strindberg from Stygg and Punx he has of course also created a video to the song. On his Soundcloud page you’ll find more songs and remixes from the new project.

In the beginning of the Autumn I wrote about the Stockholm duo Paaniq’s debut EP. As a follow-up they released the single “Never Look Back” in November, an electro pop song with disco-vibes from the eighties where they got help from London-based singer Rhianna Kenny. Listen here:

Josefine Fagerström call herself Tight Silk when she’s creating music inspired by the late eighties’ Chicago house and nordic disco. She has played post punk before in the band The Je Ne Sais Quoi and backed Jenny Wilson with vocals as well as with synths. The debut single is called “Like a Feather”, which reminds me quite a bit of disco from the seventies, with an electro costume spreading pleasant retro vibes.
