Juni Järvi

Juni JärviJuni Järvi takes me back to the early sixites, to grand orchestra ballads and pop tunes with ageless melodies, lush strings and horns. I hear a breath from girl groups like Shirelles et al, but also from constume-wearing gentlemen like Jim Reeves and Paul Anka.

I’m listening to Juni’s album “The Gospel” from last year, which is a great company, and performed in a very personal way. One of the highlights from the album is a duet with Annika Norlin in the song “(I Love It When You Call Me” Baby)”, which you can listen to here below in a Youtube-clip. Markus Krunegård also appears in a song on the album.

Juni writes that next weel, on the 1st of June at  22.30 will stream live from his concert at Södra Bar in Stockholm. You can watch the show on his Bambuser channel or on Juni Järvi’s blog.

I’m On TV

September 13, 2010 at 1:58 pm

A priest’s daughter born in Mexico, brought up in Lit 20 km from Östersund, now living on Gotland, a municipal official specialized on the EU, a mother and now also a rock star… That’s how I’m On TV, or Sofia Nordström, presents herself.

She’s recently released the three-track debut EP, “Efforts Made” and later this fall the debut album “Plastic Paradise”, will be released.

They say it’s Popsicle meets Bangles which is a very good description of how it feels. On the recordings she gets help from Kristofer Åström and Annika Norlin.

You’ll find I’m on TV on her site and you can also listen to “Efforts Made” on Spotify.
