Vanbot – “Seven”

April 9, 2015 at 4:14 pm

Vanbot

Here’s a new taste from Vanbot’s upcoming album “Perfect Storm”, which will be released in May. The song’s called “Seven” and is a rather dark song with big eighties reverbs and an exciting electro pop that wants to follow new paths rather than to walk in other’s old tracks.
“Perfect Storm” is the follow-up to Vanbot’s debut album from 2011, but already in 2013 she was about to release a new album. It was almost finalized when she felt something was missing, she decided to throw the entire project in the dustbin, and started all over again from a blank sheet of paper. Here is “Seven”:

Kastrup – “Thieves”

April 8, 2015 at 1:14 pm

Kastrup

The duo Kastrup, Timmie Strandberg and Puppe Westberg, released the excellent pop single “Lydia” in the Autumn. Today they are releasing the follow-up, “Thieves”, also a melodic pop track where the guitars this time have moved aside to give some space to pumping synths. It’s a rather dark story about broken illusions, fears and big city anxiety which they embed in an emotional, beautiful and romantic shimmer, turning the song into a grand, epic “let’s run away”-song.

Mårten Lärka – “Je Suis Un Rocker”

April 7, 2015 at 1:46 pm

Mårten Lärka

Mårten Lärka surprises us by releasing an album in French in the beginning of May. He has named the album “Alouette” and the first taste is called “Je Suis Un Rocker”, a title which even I understand. It sounds folk rock and the sixties, Dylan’s mid-sixties production comes to to mind, and it all gets a wonderful, distinct colour from the french lyrics. The music is composed by Mårten himself, while the lyrics are co-written with Algerian Hamid Khodja. Listen here:

The Screamer – “Back To Black” feat. Anthony Mills – video premiere!

April 3, 2015 at 12:00 pm

The Screamer

This Good Friday I have a video and single premiere for you, with The Screamer, aka Henrik Lundqvist. The song’s called “Back To Black”, a song where he is joined by the hip hop artist Anthony Mills. Like on his debut single “Freak Out” it’s about quite catchy electro pop which he handles with his punky expression, you could say it’s electropop with an attitude. He is like the uninvited guest that crashes in on a glammy party, breaks all the rules of how things should be, dances like madman and takes over the entire event.

The official single release is tomorrow and will be celebrated with a gig at Pet Sounds Bar in Stockholm at 7 pm. Ianizer & Lemethy have produced the track and Joakim Falk is the man behind the video.
