We’ll stay in the eighties with one foot for this post, in post punk, Jesus & Mary Chain, Bauhaus and mix this with chanting shoegaze and psychadelia. That’s how the Malmö band Ra‘s debut ep “Bloodline” sound to me, an EP that was released this summer. Here’s the title track.
Another Nation’s National Anthem has released another single, “Desdemona”. And even if there’s more forward motion in this song, compared to the last one “Caliban“, it’s impossible to avoid being swept into their dreamy indie fog this time too. And it feels quite comfortable.
No Coda, hailing from Sandviken, released this shoegaze/psychadelia-vibing song a little while ago. From what I understand it’s the band Daymare that has switched to a new name, which seems plausible listening to their earlier songs. A debut album has been recorded and will be released within short.
The post punk/shoegaze-band Principe Valiente have opened up the door to their upcoming second album by releasing the single “Take Me With You”. Great song this, which feels a little like Suede in an eighties’ constume, which I guess depends somewhat on the influence from Ed Buller, the mixer of this track, and also former producer to Suede. A new single is coming up in September and then, later in the Autumn, the new album.
This Spring the shoegaze band Star Horse has followed up on the debut EP “Crush” from the Autumn with the new EP “Lust”. They serve us five songs, this time with a wider, and somewhat bigger sound, but still with the same unmistakably dreamy gentleness, and melodic beuatiful music.
