This Vision

May 6, 2010 at 12:37 pm

This Vision, hailing from Helsingborg, released their first EP in 2007. After that they focused entirely in the production of their first full length album, and finally, in the end of last year, it was released. It’s about electronica inspired by the eighties and to me it lands somewhere between Pet Shop Boys and New Order. Handsome melodies and a nice melancholy interacting.

An interesting fact is that This Vision signed a contract with the biggest label in the Phillipines, and the album was launched there in December. Also hot right now is the fact that the song “Lost and Found” from the album was chosen to be the theme for the TV-show Gabba Gabba in SVT.

RigasIn March Rigas, aka Henrik von Euler, released his third album “Let’s Get Gone”. It contains a strong collection of synth-pop songs, with a twist and with pop melodies that are just that naturally catchy that you want pop melodies to be. The album is visited by artists like Jenny Wilson, Stefan Storm and here in “Ghosts”, Anna Maria Espinosa:

Heart-Sick Groans – New EP

Heart-Sick GroansHeart-Sick Groans put a smile to many faces a little more than a year ago, also here on Meadowmusic. Now they are here again with the EP “Gentlemen, If You Ain’t Right, Get Right!”, and this at a time that fits the music even better. Cause it feels vernal, maybe even summerish from their nice and special folk-indie.

You can listen to and download the EP on their Bandcamp page. Here are a couple of songs:

Black Light White LightThe danish-swedish band Black Light White Light went to Göteborg this winter to record three songs with the producer Johan Forsman. These tracks are now available on the debut EP “Director’s Cut”, three tracks with psychadelia-inspired rock.

Let’s Say We Did

Let's Say We DidLet’s Say We Did is the name of a band that released their debut EP, “Follow Me Down”, in February. It’s pop with retro vibes and some americana included. The sound feels a little special, where a touch of distortion fits nicely with the fragile and sensitive vocals.

Here’s the title track from the EP:
