Momofoko, hailing from Malmö, released their third album “Movement” during Spring. We heard the catchy single “We Know” already last year and now it’s in good company of another 8 tracks of dance-inspiring indie-disco-pop, alternately electronic and guitar-funky. Here’s a taste of it.
Josefine Fagerström and her solo project Tight Silk is out with a new single, “Ain’t Gonna Get Me Dreamin”, as a follow up to the debut single “Like a Feather“. Aiming at the dance floor she manages also with this track to create a great groove and a catchy chorus, dressed in her very own sound mix of computer game synth sounds and house pianos with a kind of indie vibe to it all.
In the beginning of the Autumn I wrote about the Stockholm duo Paaniq’s debut EP. As a follow-up they released the single “Never Look Back” in November, an electro pop song with disco-vibes from the eighties where they got help from London-based singer Rhianna Kenny. Listen here:
Josefine Fagerström call herself Tight Silk when she’s creating music inspired by the late eighties’ Chicago house and nordic disco. She has played post punk before in the band The Je Ne Sais Quoi and backed Jenny Wilson with vocals as well as with synths. The debut single is called “Like a Feather”, which reminds me quite a bit of disco from the seventies, with an electro costume spreading pleasant retro vibes.
Momofoko who released their debut album last year, is back with more songs of their own indie-disco flavour. “We Know” is the title song from the two-track single that was released during summer, maybe the best one I’ve heard so far from the band.
A new single is on it’s way within short and they have their aim for a new album release in Spring 2013.
