Thus: Owls is a duo that consists of the married couple Simon and Erika Angell. With two earlier albums in their backpack they are now on their way with a third one, “Turning Rock”, recorded in Montreal where they are now based. The album will be released on the 7th of April but they have aleady uploaded a first taste of the album in the shape of this beautiful piano ballad, “A Long As We Try A Little”.
Here’s a new interesting duo, Wouie, who some week ago showed their first two tracks to the world. Pop it is, with the feet set in both guitar indie pop and electro pop, with quite a dose of the eighties’ large rooms and distant vocals and choirs. Victor and Linus are the first names of the two members, and there’s not much more info than that, but I have a feeling we will hear from them soon again.
The Grand Minnows was formed last year by five friends. Three of them met during their time in the band El Capitanos, but together the band members have quite a list of bands on their CV, bands like Soul Sinister, Vains of Jenna, Cadillacos, Noise Bastards and The Underdogs to name a few. Last week they released the debut EP”Friday Lights”; three tracks of melancholic rock with a hint of american alt rock. Here are two of the songs:
Here’s the debut single from the band Boufa Boufa, hailing from Hudiksvall, “Canadian Brother”, a catchy tune that breathes folk and indie and which makes me think of The Alarm. Obviously they have finished a new EP which will be released any day now.
