Peter Hägerstrand – “och jag hör musik”

Swedish-Finnish Peter Hägerstrand has worked with music since the beginning of the nineties. First as an artist in bands like Good Evening Manchester and Jupiter Park, and later first of all as a composer for film, TV and also for the theatre. He has continued to write pop songs, though, and decided to release a solo album, which was released earlier this year and was called “och jag hör musik” (“and I hear music”).
There are 10 songs in Swedish which take me to the seventies’ British and Swedish pop scene. Maybe mostly the Swedish one, where I hear Ted Gärdestad, Harpo and something of Svensktoppen. It’s uplifting pop with melancholic turns, catching melodies and a well-sounding, slightly nostalgic production. You’ll find a taste from it here below.
